Its true that you get what you pay for, but in the case of Magnaflow, I think you get a little bit more for your money. It is stainless, but its also not the highest grade stainless (except for the tips of course), so welding is not a problem. The sound at idle is low and quiet, and screams at WOT. Even if you have a stock set-up, it sounds really nice. (Given it's not your intention to wake your neighbors everytime you start your car at night).

Re: best perf. catback exhaust

I've got a Magnaflow on my 94 Z, got it used on the boards here for cheap and it rocks IMO. It sounded really nice IMO even when the rest of the exhaust was stock, now I've got a gutted cat and Edelbrock headers and it sounds pretty freakin awesome IMO. It's not obnoxious at idle or cruising, but at WOT it screams and growls like a... eh I don't know what but it's badass, lol.

I had a Hooker catback on my 87 Z for like 5-6 years, and it sounded great and never showed a hint of rust or anything, I'm not so sure the worry about it's aluminized pipes rusting up is that serious. But I didn't live up north with salt on the roads or whatever, southern car... I was thinking very seriously about a Hooker cat-back for my 94, they definitely sound GREAT. I just went with what I found at the time for a great deal, buying new I probably would have gone w/ the Hooker...

If you are looking for a loud exhaust system and are lookin for something other than the loudmouth, check out the TSP Rumbler. Basically the same thing as the loudmouth, but it comes with some kick-a$$ lookin tips IMO.

I had the edelbrock and I think it sounded pretty good. Wasn't overly loud but did sound good. Sounded WAY better than Flushmaster that so many people seem to run..

Its all about what you want. As long as it is 3 inch manderal bent it will be pretty good. If you can get a local shop to put you duals that might be doable for the same price range. I have borla and I got a good deal on it, 375 for it installed

Go listen to sound clips of of these installed. do you want it loud or quiet?
