Dynatech makes a set of headers that don't use a slip on primary but they use slip on collectors which isn't as bad IMO. Mine leaked at 1st but when I was working in a y-pipe shop I took 1.75" pipe (the same diameter as my primaries) and cut it into 1/2 inch sections to put in the collector to make a seal with red RTV.

i did the pacesetter install today. Overall not too bad. Plug access is good. The headers dont hit the floor board. The headers were a pain in the *** to get in. Had to jack up the motor. The egr didnt fit for ****. The air pump fittings were a bitch to get screwed in, but they did go in. One wire was not in a good spot and burned on the way back to my house. It took all day long to do the install. They do look good though. From the horrors of installs these werent too bad. all the holes lined up and they laid flat. Have to get a y-pipe made tomorrow. I used a lift as well. just post if u have questions. Im sorry i didnt take any pics. Thanks, Michael
thanks
so you still have to buy the y-pipe or are you getting one custom made.....................if by chance you get a pic... i would really be interested in the area of the slip fit.... thanks in advance..
i am getting a custom 3 inch y-pipe made at performance muffler in norman. it costs 150 but it wont have fitment problems like ive heard with the pre-made ypipes. I get some pics of it for ya. Thanks, Michael

Ground clearance with TPiS Longtubes is great.
The Pacesetters are very similar in ground clearance and the slip fit collectors and they're half the price of the TPiS's.
TPiS uses regular 3" manifold bolts which makes them very easy to bolt on with no leaks especially the passenger rear bolt.
Here's a few pics of my TPiS ground clearance with custom dual cats.

A 3 inch Y-pipe is overkill because his car doesn't seem to have any serious mods to it and when you have that much pipe after a basically stock engine its too free flowing so you lose out on torque. To each his own but I think a 3 inch y-pipe is stupid right after the motor unless its a ridiculously modified motor which I doubt his is or he would've had headers on it already. The only place I have 3 inch pipe on my car is the cat back.
