Best heads, cam, intake

I would like to know the best heads, cam, and intake to go with right now for my car, for a 383 build later. Right know my car is just a bolt on car without headers, I planning on going with long tubes to open it up but wanted to know what to go with. My plans for the 383 is simple build a strong motor and run nos to dip into the 10's. Right now I am just trying to get a little more horsepower why I am buying parts before I build the 383 this winter.

A set of converted Brodix heads flowing about 360CFM. I have a brand new solid roller for ya and a carb style intake or sheet metal.
Build the bottom right and ya can run 10's on motor then spray it into the 9's.

AFR will be coming out with some insanly good heads in the very near future. A set of those with a CC306 cam would be my vote.

Oh my god, I must come here for the comedy.

saying nonexistent parts will be great and then recommending a dinosaur of a cam to go with it .
Thanks I needed a laugh.

If you come in here asking this broad a question YOU are going to be the biggest thing stopping you from reaching your goal, you simply lack the experiance and kowledge to pull it off. First thing you need to do is set the deadline on this WAY out then do a lot of reading.
"Best" is a great way to start a big pissing match here. REALITY is there are a number of good head shops that can help you out and you need to look at a handful and decide which you you are comfortable with.
I chose www.advancedinduction.com others will pop in with their favorites and you need to just start reading from there.

Magazines are a GREAT way to find out which advertizers are spending the big bucks, NOT for getting usseful info. As you learn what you are doing with this car you will stop reading car magazines unless you decide to do so for a laugh because the info is BAD, not all of it but enough to warrant letting your subscription go.

Re: Best heads, cam, intake

You need to read more about these topics before you get in too deep.

How much do you know about building a engine NA? I would assume not much from the question. Best for what? All out power? If you want that, the car will never make another pass down the street. Will not be street legal. Will not idle for dick. Will not make any low end power. And will have to be revved out past 7,000RPMs (Which means you go carbed, or buy a aftermarket computer because the stock one can not work past 7000RPMs.

You need to learn more about engine building before you do anything to the car.

If your building a street car, I wouldnt go any bigger than a LE3 or GM 847 cam. If your building a car that needs to pass emssions, you cant go any bigger than the hot cam, or a custom cam from someone reputable like Bret Bauer (SStrokeRace). Yuo need to be realistic with your goals here.

the car he referenced isn't a advertizers car..so that doesn't apply. It was built in the guys garage on a budget. So yea...people CAN learn from his build. that being said there are better cams out there. That one is just what clint had and is obviously making it work.

Re: Best heads, cam, intake

That guy Clint that posts here had his car in the GMHTP mag last month, right?

Sorry I forgot, no humor in heads / cam threads.
