I'm running Jet-Hot LT, dual cats with a Borla (1 1/2" open plate) making a tad more power and mine is certainly beyond my States db limit. High power n/a cars are simply not quiet. An increase to 500 with the mods you listed won't even be close - 500rwhp n/a is going to take a bit more than that.

Re: Best Flowing Exhaust Setup?

By far the freest flowing would be coutouts right after LT headers, but you don't see many people runnning this at the tracks. There is a reason for this. There is more to going fast than peak HP. Even Top Fuel cars have some backpressure built into them. Back pressure gives torque, and you need torque to get the car going. When I did my setup, we purposely put in some back pressure by reducing to a 2.5 inch y-pipe, the out 3-inch into a turned down muffler through the back. Not only did this make it driveable, but made the car faster overall. If you were building a car to race for top speed out in Arizona, then totaly free might be the way to go, but for drag racing you need some back pressure to give you torque. Sure, you might lose 7 or so peak HP with a setup like mine, but you are going to be faster in the 1/4.
