I know I'll be happy with the 3.42s I've ran what I ran in my sig, I think it's got more in it with a different launch technique. We'll see. I'll probably get LTs before the cam. Depends on what I get when taxes come back.
Jason Cromer sells the kit for right under $600 shipped I believe...do a search for his e-mail or phone number, I can't remember it off the top of my head...

Well, the topic of thread was "what cam to run mid 12's". So i just posted what worked for me. Sorry if i offended anyone.

If you want to get there by purchasing an aftermarket cam, the cheapest way would be to go with the Hotcam kit. Many people run low 12's with that cam. At the same time though i hear alot of people wishing they would have went with a bigger cam.

And why would you want to go to all the trouble of replacing the cam and not do the heads???? No sense in replacing just the cam that will leaving you wishing for more, and then have to tear your engine apart again to do the heads. I firmly believe that a good P&P will greatly compliment any larger cam. I just can't understand why someone would do one and not the other. Just do them both at the same time, and by the way, my vote goes to the CC 306. Makes good power and enough lope at idle to jar loose your fillings.

the polishing aspect of porting is WAY overated (not much gain from smoothing out the ports), just get your heads ported more for the same money. And from what i hear, keepin it semi-rough (but smooth path) is actually better (for below 7000RPM street cars)and helps fuel atomization by preventing the fuel from sticking to the walls (or some **** like that).

oh yeah 115MPH on stock heads and HOT cam is very impressive, shoot even 112's or so is better than some H/C cars do.

if you do this save about 2200 bucks for a shorter drive shaft and a new 12 bolt rearend. the 847 on a 110 would sound great and preform well with a good dyno tune. the valve timing looks good on it. and altjar ran a 11.95 on stock heads with it on a 112

toegead93 I run the Crane 210/224 with stockheads na. My car is a lightweight hardtop with 3.73 gears and a Vig3200. I ran 11.40 116.59 with this setup in 60 degree weather. For stockheads with an automatic I would suggest my cam or the Hotcam. Ken95z ran 11.80 with the hotcam with stockheads. Frank95z

There are so many people that tend to go the large cam route automatically.

I see mid 12's from guys with the CC305 and stock heads. That cam would be great for a daily driver also. It just seems like every time I see a guy running a CC305, they also have a great e.t.

In general, the bigger in cam you go, the less low end torque, i.e. daily drivability, you have.

For myself, it's between the CC502 or the CC305. Both excellent cams and capable of getting what you want with awesome daily driving.

One guy dynnoed 343HP/343TQ with the CC502, stock heads and shorty headers.
