Belt Squeels when shifting at WOT

My accessory belt seems to let out a high pitch squeel during shifts when at WOT. Any idea how I can tell if its the tensioner thats not working right or if its the belt? I replaced the belt only a year or 2 ago.

Mine does that exact same thing too, I think im gonna get a new belt because it shows some crackage. Btw, does anyone know how to quiet down an alternator, mine makes an annoyingly high pitched sound. I wish i could get rid of it so you could hear the exhaust rumble more when in front of the car instead of it gettin picked off by the alternator belt.

That's a common problem...a new belt may help for a little while, but I think a better solution is to locate a replacement Goodyear Gatorback belt, seems to cure it as far as I know.

Mine did this as well, I changed the tensioner and the belt and no change, I later added an underdrive pulley and it stopped.

Worked for me. Haven't heard a peep from the belt since the Gatorback was put on. Autozone now stocks them.

I haven't ever driven an LT1 4th gen yet that the stock belt didn't screach at high rpm's.

IS it ok to push the car past this squeek? It seems like it will break so i usually let off as soon as i hear it but can i safely keep it at wot? Ill replace it once i get a chance.

Its just slippage. When the car shifts the rpm's go down and all the accessorys need to slow down too. The only thing to really slowing them down is the belt, so the belt shouldnt really break at all
