Did you check the prices through the discount GM parts sources:

Did you consider a junk yard?

Are you looking for a BCM or a module to use in lieu of the BCM for the fuel enable signal to the PCM? the latter can be found on Ebay.

excuse my response if it dosen't make sense, i am mechanically-illiterate. my friend is working on my car and his boss said it's the BCM. the BCM from what my friends at the local GM parts told me the part cost 350 retail and it is on back-order.

i don't understand the science behind these parts, and all i know is my car has not been able to start since Feb. Finals are over and now i have a chance to try getting the car back on the road.

i read on shbox.com there is a bypass module available out there and that seems to be the fastest route.

thanks for the replies.

You are going to have to get a little more technically detailed to explain what the problem is and to explain why it is thought a BCM or a bypass module is needed.

from when i was watching my friend a couple months ago, he tore down the steering colum and got the same ohm reading through the lock cylinder as from the key. he tried bypassing the starter and fuel pump relay and the car started for a couple of seconds, but cut out.

right now the car is at his working place and his boss was working on my car. he assumes his boss figured it was the BCM from the scanner, because the scanner is in my car, he said.

i don't know if this helps

From that explanation, it sounds like the BCM is not giving the PCM the fuel enable signal. In that case you do need a bypass module (like this one).

It can also be programmed out of the PCM without having to use the module.

As post #3 and #7 already indicated, you can find them on Ebay. Just search for VATS bypass.

I hate to be dumb, but is this the right bypass module?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-VA...Q5fAccessories

My brother's 95 v6 has been having this problem and it keeps getting worse. I just want to get rid of it. So the plan is to jump the TDR and to install this module to take care of the TDM. Is that right?

Thanks guys, especially you Shoebox, not sure what I would do without your site. You may want to post up a picture of the module and perhaps where it wires in at. That would help out a ton.

That should work. Also Baker Electronics sells one on Ebay. I don't have one, so I can't do install pics. Hopefully it comes with instructions or you can use schematics on my site.
