Question bbc 1.7 rocker arms on lt1

i was just wondering if i can use bbc NSA rocker arms on an lt1, i already have upgraded spings ect. as well as guideplates and 7/16" studs.
i know that the big block is 1.7ratio, but can i use this with a lt4 hotcam?
the reason i am trying to do this is not performance gain i have a GM847 cam but i know the rocker arms wont handle all that lift especially on a 1.7 and i plan on going down to lt4 HC because of lift reasons for now, but because my camaro is not running and i need to re-assemble but i just got laid off and am on a budget and need to get my car running, i already have the heads ready but with 7/16" studs and GP, all i need are the rocker arms and pushrods to assemble, so would this work, then i plan to upgrade as soon as i can just i am in need of my vehicle and on a budget right now....thanks in advance for any help.....

No, the length is wrong.

I thought that the length difference was the factor that changed the ratio to 1.7? So wouldn't it work if I also purchase a set of pushrods to match.
Couldn't I just install them and use a pushrod length checker on them and just use a pushrod to match since I am going to purchase a set anyways?
And as far as geometry wouldn't that handle the problem?
Because if I run the hotcam on 1.7rockers on it wouldn't I have a .558/.558 which as far as my springs should handle.... So if that is the case if I just purchase matching pushrods would this work?

To change ratio they shift the pushrod contact point, distance from stud the roller tip can't change much or you wont keep it on the valve.
What Rich was trying to say was say a smallblock rocker is 1" from stud to tip a big block is maybe 1.25". I know those numbers are not accurate but hopefully it illustrates the point.
Depending on what the length difference actually is the tip could be on the retainer outboard of the valve tip.

If really on a budget just use stock studs no guideplates and stock rockers, yes you will give up some performance but this should be good and reliable till you get back on your feet. If those parts are already in the garbage I bet someone would send you a set of basically the cost of shipping.

Rocker arm pivot ***** that will fit small block rockers with 7/16" studs are available from Competition Products [(800) 233-0199] for 32.95 per set. A few minutes with a Dremel tool to open the slot on the bottom of the stock rockers and a set of 7/16" rocker ***** and you should be good to go.

Ok, thanks for the help, so as far as length I see what you mean now, and thanks for the option about modifying them but I don't trust myself that much with a dremel at least not on rocker arms, so would it be better to run oem rockers or I already have a set of old school sbc NSA rockers from and old engine? And what is the max lift on oem, and oem NSA with guideplates? Thanks for all the help guys!!!!

I believe that you mentioned having invested in 7/16 studs? To run either the OEM self-aligning or the NSA, you'll need to swap back to the 3/8 studs. If you keep the guide plates, use the NSA rockers. If you go with self-aligning rockers, take off the guide plates. Don't mix self-aligning rockers and guide plates. I cannot speak to your question regarding the maximum lift that an OEM rocker will accommodate. Sorry.
