Need help ASAP! Project screeched to a hault!!

two questions guys
what are lifters going to cost for my LT1, we're currently installing everything in my sig and I might need new lifters? what kind should I go with?

also, turns out my tranny is cracked and my flywheel is broken
but I'm just about out of money, just enough left for the PCMforless tune, registration, inspections and the insurance payments that about to come due in a month

so what would you guys do with the tranny? get it welded? Buy a used one to get my buy until I can get a nice rebuilt performance tranny?

and what do you guys recommend for flywheels??
brands, pricing?

any input would be greatly appreciated

Thanks,
Ben

Trans cracked? Where? and you CANNOT use a broken flywheel thats ASKING for issues especially when it can cause inbalance issues inside the engine

LS7 lifters are running ~$125 the last time I looked. You sure you can't get by with the ones you have? Used rollers will not hurt a new cam, unlike used flat tappets. It all depends on how many miles you have on them whether you should replace them. I don't know your particulars, but would replace them if you have over 100k on the old ones. Good luck.

no worries, I'll be picking up a new flywheel

not sure about the tranny issue, leaving for michigan at 4am tomorrow and won't be back til sunday night, the guy helping me out who has the lift to drop the engine out took the engine out today and got the heads off for me so I can run them to the machine shop on monday or tuesday and he said my flywheel was broken and that I'm gonna need to buy a new tranny and that it was cracked on the right side I believe?

only thing is, the car still drives, I was whooping on it last year before I had to put it away, and while it may slip a little for being an older one, I never knew anything was broken... so I don't see why I couldn't just have it welded and buy a new flywheel

input?

Also, your sig says you have an A4? You would have a flexplate instead of a flywheel, unless you are doing the M6 swap. If so, you should be able to pick up a used flexplate for cheap. As far as I know, there aren't too many aftermarket ones. The stock ones work great.

my bad, it's a 4L60e and yes it's a flexplate... I saw them on ebay brand new for about 50-70 bucks

If it isn't an OEM GM flexplate, stay away from it. The aftermarket ones are pieces of crud and will not hold up.

As for the lifters, I'd say, "Yes".

depends on how bad the trans is cracked - did the guy pulling your motor maybe cause this problem? just asking - check this thread out: https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=671400

might be a way for you to save a little cash
