Battery relocation problem (ground)

Ok I did the kit, ran my Positive cable back up to the front and just mounted the end to where the existing cable would screw into the battery terminal if it were still up front. I did this because I dont want to hack any of the wires incase I ever sell it. The ground I used the short cable and grounded it right to the back.

Well what was happening is it would just stutter and click like it was jumping spark somewhere off the ground and when it would turn over the starter would jump in and out and grind. So someone told me the negative cable in the front needs to be grounded too, Im talking about the loop where it hooked to the batter terminal.

So I just took a bolt and bolted it to the loop and then used a 4 gauge wire and grounded it to the core support on a existing ground bolt. It turns over alot better but it still jumps and it doesnt seem like it fires as quick. Once its running though the car runs mint and have a great charge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That already is grounded as long as you have a proper ground at the battery. That is grounded through the chassis and the motor.

My battery relocation works perfect, I put a bolt through the subframe and grounded to that.

Did you use the kit with 1 gauge wire? I doubt thats going to be enough gauge to run from the rear up to the front of the car, then through that 4 gauge wire back to the starter. You probably need bigger wire. I ran 1 gauge straight to the starter and 1 ga ground to the rear subframe. Started "ok" but not great, I'm currently redoing it with 1/0 ga to starter, I dont think 1 ga is enough.

i ran 1/0 from the battery to the front, then a 4 ga to the starter and the post on the fender. My alternator has a 4 ga back to the opposite side of the battery switch that the battery is on to keep it nhra legal.
