Bank 1 too rich. Help Please. (code 0172)

What would cause this? I just changed my plugs and wires and the 02 sensor on that side. I don't know what to check and don't want to throw parts at the car. How can I find the problem?? Thanks.

make sure you didn't burn the wire to your 02 sensor on that bank after the header install...has happened to me before and it threw a code and ran like crap.

Why did you replace that particular O2 sensor? Were you having the same problem before you changed it?

One way to check to see if its a sensor problem would be to swap the left and right sensors side-to-side. If the problem follows the sensor, its a sensor problem?

If you added a splice for your o2's to reach your BBK headers,
it might be your connection.

No I didn't splice the o2 sensors. I replaced the o2 sensor on that side when I got the code for the o2 sensor. The code came back about a week after I replaced the sensor along with the bank 1 too rich code. So I don't want to get another o2 sensor just for it to go bad again. I'll swap the two just to make sure though. Thanks. Anything else that may cause this??

Can you use freescan or something equivalant and post a log file here? This would help us out the best. Mine is running really lean on one side, due to the fact that something electrical with my 02 sensor on my drivers side is bad.

Swapped 02 sensors and problem stayed on drivers side so its not the 02's. I dont have freescan so I can't post any logs. I checked for exhaust leaks and found none. Should I replace the hoses and the pcv valve on the right side of the intake manifold to make sure theres not a leak? Should I get the injectors cleaned? The plug wires aren't burnt and I may pull the plugs again to check them but they are all new along with the wires. Any other things i should consider?

How new are the headers? I've heard from a lot of folks that new headers will burn off residues for about a month and these will destroy O2 sensors.

Otherwise, I too had a Bank 1 too rich condition which turned out to be one of my injectors sticking open. After replacing it and having the rest cleaned by a shop it runs really good.
