Bad Night at Track

Well barometric pressure was 30.08 and humidity was 98%. People there said they were running a solid .4-.6 tenths slower than usual and were trapping 3-4mph slower. I talked to about 10 different racers and that was the average. On my first run I broke the tires loose at 90mph! I ended up short shifting to 4th to regain traction. Regardless, I ran a best w/ dr's :

60' - 2.065
330 - 5.509
1/8 - 8.356
MPH - 87.72
1000 - 10.769
1/4 - 12.802
MPH - 111.32

Best 1/8th mph was 87.82 and best 1/4 mph was 111.52

I know there is definitely more in it with better conditions. Track sucked for traction. Anyone know what the corrected times would be based on the baro and humidity? Temp was around 60 degrees.

What was the temp out too? Barometer was good, except that humidity was a killer!

It was about 60 degrees. You can actually water spraying of the cars tires as they are flying down the track! Someone asked if they were gonna put the vht down (I think that is the sticky stuff), but the guy said it would be worthless since its going on a layer of water.

The barometer and air temperature are actually favorable. Its only the relative humidity that cost you any performance... and humidity doesn't have a huge affect. If you reduced the humidity to 0%, you would pick up .5mph and about .06-seconds.

Use the CZ28.com online calculations directory to find the ET/MPH correction.

The conditions were not bad at all with the #s you posted (bar., humidity, and temp) put the density altitude at 122 feet and relitive horsepower was at 103.3%
