Under what conditions does it misfire:
-cold start?
-cold idle?
-warm idle?
-low rpm/part load?
-high rpm/high load?
-runs fine until about 3 minutes after cold start?

coil?
IC Module?
leaking EGR?

Does the engine have any mod's or is it stock?

Have they scanned it? The GM enhanced parameters scan data will tell them if its a random misfire, or specific to one or more cylinders.

Who is "they", that are playing parts-replacement roulette with your car and your check book?

I don't mean to thread jack... but I am having a bad misfire problem myself. it does not appear until driving the car for a few minutes, and it gets progressively worse as you drive it. I thought it was just moisture in the gas since I haven't driven the car in a while, but a bottle of heat didn't change anything. the car ran fine a couple of months ago before I stopped daily driving it. now it starts up fine, but misfires bad under even slight load (the ses light even flashes) and at idle you can tell there is a miss. any ideas, I can't afford to play parts roulette.

btw, it has new plugs, wires, coil, opti, pcm, no cats to get plugged, no egr, no AIR, and new o2s.

thanks,
nick

does anyone have any additional input on what may cause such a bad miss to develop, especially in a car that hasn't been driven much over the last couple months.

thanks, nick

Then why did you? As you can see, the original poster isn't getting any responses and it may be that you've contributed to that problem.

uhh... im having a similar problem as he is, so there really isn't sense in starting a new thread. How have I contributed to a problem? I appreciate your intellect in helping to solve the problem at hand though; good job posting pointless conversation in the thread. I'll start my own thread then, though I now doubt that I'll receive any viable information from doing that anyways.

Thanks for all your help,
Nick

Last time I checked, the Admins asked me to Moderate these forums. If you have a problem with the way I do it, contact the Admins.... I'm sure they'll be glad to hear from you. You highjacked the thread... plain and simple, and its wrong by anyone's standards. You may consider it "pointless conversation".... but I consider it my job.

Have a nice day.

You already have a post going on this one, and Shoebox has given you the answer to your question regarding the jumper wires required to connect an OBD-I scanner to a 1995 16-pin OBD-II style ALDL connector. Someone also gave you the link to Shoebox's site, with a diagram of the jumper wires.
