Bad hesitation problem
There seems to be a lot of threads on this with little to no resolution. Well here goes my story, like many of you guys at or over 100,000 miles my car started to hesitate and stumble when I accelerated at 2k RPMs. Took it to my chevy dealer, they told me that my water pump died said the the ball bearing were gone. SO THAT WAS THAT NOISE I HEARD WHEN I WAS GETTING ON THE TURNPIKE!!! Well the water pump leaked fluid onto my opti thus the bad hesitation problem. I had my water pump and opti replaced to the tune of $1900.00
Took my car out in 90 degree weather up a mountain road, parked it in the sun, so it can get nice and hot and drove on the interstate. The hesitatation problem gone. Did this several days to make sure the computer was not in a loop.
So you guys need to check your water pumps to see if it is leaking. I hope this helps

Wow you paid $1900 to the dealer to have them fix your opti and waterpump. In all honesty a opti and waterpump are extremely easy to install. There are excellent guides online showing your the process of removing and installing a new opti.
