Is this a bad dyno?

Just got her dynoed for a baseline. (dynojet) 277RWHP and 348RWTQ? I have Shorty Hooker headers, Borla cat back, K&N CAI, MSD opti, and thats it as far as I know. What do you think? Car runs great! Sorry can't post pic, dont know how.

Those seem like awesome numbers for your moderate mods. Stock A4's tend to dyno around 240. If anything I would say you're about 10 - 15 horse higher than I would have thought and torque seems real high to me considering what stock LT1's make to the flywheel. Congrats.

The curve was very up and down. Air fuel were consistantly at 13. The guy at the dyno shop said he didn't know if tuning would smooth the curve out or not. What should be my next step to add more power to my car? Money is a limiting factor.

Tune (I used pcmforless), some new valve springs with 1.6 roller rockers, aftermarket elbow and maybe a couple of the free mods will show you a nice improvement.

Sounds about right, My car with a 3500 ptc made 276rwhp and 318rwhq but ran mid 12s. Dyno number don't mean it all. track times do IMO.

Cool I'm happy thanks guys. I didn't know if I should feel bad or not. My buddys 08 charger is rated fot 350hp but I was pulling on him by a car length or so. I'll get it programmed next then.

It's probably 350 to the flywheel...Chargers are pretty heavy cars, I test drove an 07 R/T and was really dissapointed.

Is there a reason for running shorties, Longtubes would definetely help w/ a good tune. I'd go with Trifecta, so you don't have to go thru the hassle of sending in your pcm. It's only $175 too, so...there ya go.

my torque reading was all over the map also. the dyno operator said it was because my opti was going out (which i already knew) but it also made my torque number really high also. your torque sounds a tad high to me so you might want to look into that. I know you have an msd opti but from what ive heard those things are a shot in the dark if you get a good one or not. if not though great numbers

I looked at the Trifecta website. Pretty cool. I'll have to see what the local shop charges here. Although It'll probably be cheaper and better results from Trifecta since thats all they do.

HP looks good and TQ looks like something is wrong because it's too high.

I've not see a car put down 348 TQ with similar mods. Usually you need to be in the 330-340 HP range to be in that TQ range. You could have a TQ freak though.

I guess if his car runs good like he says, I wouldn't worry about the bafflingly high Torque numbers. I'd be proud as hell.

inkking, your next mod: STALL CONVERTER!!! It won't add power, but it will move. Before my bro put one in his car, me and him would be pretty even. But now, it's no contest. He will pull away from me with ease.
