Bad day at track..what can i spect??
went to the track yesterday and in my first pass-nitrous purg the cars seams to run normaly but it blow the oil gauge, it was complete outside and the engine starts smokyng for all the oil that touch headers and heads..but i was runing open cut outs, and at idle the blue smoke comes out of the exhaust tips...
what can i spect??broken ring? spun a bearing? broken piston?
, nothing more than a dirty engine?
the car semms to run normal it has normal oil preasure but i did't move it more, i will be towing it today to the mechanic..
i sprayed 150 shot 3 weeks ago, so yesterdeay, the only thing diferent that i did was the open cut outs, can that cause the oil gauge blow?

The "blow the oil gauge"..... do you possibly mean the oil dipstick blew out, it was completely out of the dipstick tube, and oil sprayed out of the tube? Or do you mean the oil pressure sensor broke or blew apart, and oil came out of the sensor?

jiji sorry i'm not "gringo" and i do my best but some times it's difficult i apologyze... but Injurer guess rigth!!!
oil dipstick blew out, it was completely out of the dipstick tube, and oil sprayed out of the tube...
can have a relation with the open cut outs?
what about the blue smoke on the exhaust?
btw the "nitrous-purgue" trash that i wrote....just trying to say that was my first pass but that i have done that before with out problems with the oil dipstick blew out....

Re: Bad day at track..what can i spect??
If you're asking if the open cut-out would relate to the oil dipstick blowing out...no it wouldn't.
Would excessive blowby (rings) cause the dipstick tube to blow out? Also...would worn rings not let oil into the combustion chamber to be burnt and then blown out the exhaust as blue smoke?
I'm thinking rings...is there another piece missing in there somewhere? Not sure how the PCV system works...

You built a bullet proof 396 and went back to the stock cam? How does that run? What kind of times have you gotten like that?
Post back with the info that the mechanic gives. I'm curious as to why the dipstick blew out.

Re: Bad day at track..what can i spect??
Ring lands gone on one piston would be enough to cause those results. You can do a sort of rough check by pushing the oil dipstick in tight, plugging up the line from the throttle body to the valve cover, let the engine idle, take the cap off the oil fill pipe. Put your hand over the fill pipe and see if you can feel air pulsing out of the fill pipe. Then listen at the top of the fill pipe for a "chuffing" sound, that would indicate heavy blowby from damaged piston and/or rings.
The comment about showing "location" information is an important one. By entering a "location" in your personal profile, it will allow people to know that English may not be your native language, and perhaps allow them to be more accepting of your difficulties with English.
Unfortunately, many native USA citizens with English as there first language will often display a high degree of functional illiteracy, and those posts often get ignored specifically for that reason... I know I've reached the point where I no longer respond to posts from people who think its too much trouble to spell correctly, use punctuation and capitals, and structure coherent sentences. But when I know someone is NOT an English speaker, its makes it a challenge to understand and help you..... and that's all I'm trying to do.... help you

Re: Bad day at track..what can i spect??
Got it..and thanks a lot.
Yesterday the mechanic made something like Injurer sugested and sayed "damaged ring", because his work load, he is going to "open" the engine until 7 of August I will be trying pictures to post.
Sweetred95ta I don't have times, but 396 stock cam feels strong!!
