Backspacing on skinnies

I'm looking at buying a set of weld wheels for the track in 15 x 3 1/2 and I was wondering what the proper backpspacing is for a 4th gen for these to fit right. Summit lists these wheels as 1 3/4" backspacing, would that clear the calipers ok?

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...D%2D90%2D54080

Thanks.

From what I have read....they will work if you use a 5/16 spacer.
(You'll need 2.67" studs to be NHRA legal)

Hopefully someone with that setup will chime in.

It doesn't really matter that much what the backspace is with the Weld Drag Lites or Pro-Star front skinnies. The part that hits the brake caliper spring clip is the flat hub disc, not the rim, and the part that catches the big horizontal bar on the steering knuckle that supports the brakes is the rounded part where the center disc rolls over to become the rim. Not the rim itself.

I have the 15x3.5 w/ 1.75" BS, plus a 5/16" spacer, and I think they stick out of the wheel openings too far... click on the "Trailer Queen... " link below to see what I mean. If you could get a 2.5" BS I think they would look better, but I don't know if they make anything other than the 1.75" BS.

I have 15x5 Weld XPs for the front and I would recommend you get the XPs if you go with the Welds, I also have 15x10 on the rear and have had no problems with hitting the brakes or anything else.
