Two quick questions about Telstars and other drag light wheels.

Not sure if this belongs here, but I figure this is the best place to ask.

I'm going to go with some Centerline Telstars (I wanted something different thank Pro Stars or Drag Lites). I've heard they won't make a 10" wide wheel with a 7.5" backspace. I want to go with some Hoosier QTP 28x11.5x15's. Do you guys think they'll bulge too much on a 8" wide wheel, or will they fit with some tubes?

Next is a question about skinnies. I've got Hooker LT's with two cutouts right after the collectors. I've only got 3-4" of ground clearance. I thought most skinny tires were a little shorter than 26" tall. I was considering throwing on some QA1 (or whatever the old HAL shocks are called now), and adjust the front high up about half an inch. Do you think that'll be required so I don't scrape over everything?

Also, do Hoosier sell a DOT approved skinny? I saw the only 26" tall (25.8 to be exact, part number 18105). Are they DOT approved?

I know M/T has a 26x.7.5x15 tire that's DOT approved.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

I'm pretty sure Hoosier makes a 28x11.5x15 QTP DOT, try Jay at www.billingsleyracing.biz, he is not only a Hoosier dealer but a Weld wheel dealer and he can mount them and then send them to you.

I run ET Fronts in front, and Hoosier 28x11.5x15 slicks in back, on 15x10 Pro Stars. Best 60's in the high 1.4's.

As a very general rule of thumb, 1" more or less in tire sixe over/under rim width.

I have 10" rims as per spec at http://www.mickeythompson tires.com

I am now running 15" x 12.5" x 28" ET Streets. My previous sixe was 15" x 11.5" x 26"

Traction will be better with a rim that fits your tires properly and it will be safer as well.
