Autotap P0137 code
Autotap P0137 code
I'm new to using autotap and have a question. Is it normal for this code (P0137) to not set the SES light?
I've been having trouble with emissions testing due to readiness monitors not being ready. The SES light is not on nor has it been on at all this year. I decided to run Autotap and P0137 came up, however it also says no DTC's were found after scanning. Does anyone know if this code set off the SES or not? Thank you in advance.

Re: Autotap P0137 code
I'm not experienced with the functionality of Autotap so to answer your question, no. I thought it was odd that I have no SES light lit and was wondering if Autotap might have found the code another time before today and saved it. As for finding out what that sensor is reading, how do I do it and what should I look for?
Re: Autotap P0137 code
I'm not familiar with Autotap, but I presume you have to put it in some kind of diagnostic mode. Someone else will have to help you with the proper way to set up and use Autotap.
Re: Autotap P0137 code
P0137 sets when the driver's side after-cat O2 sensor has a constant voltage output below 40mV. Your scanner should be able to read virtually any sensor on the vehicle. Look at the B1S2 sensor and see if its stuck below 40mV, or moving similar to the pre-cat sensor (although with a bit less range in the swings).
If you can't figure out how to use AutoTap, try switching the after-cat O2 sensors side-to-side. If the problem (code) follows the sensor, its a faulty sensor. If the problem stays on the drivers side, its a wiring problem, cat problem, etc.

Re: Autotap P0137 code
Thanks for the replies. In the interest of pasing the emissions teat quickly I think I'm going to get O2 sims for the time being. If that works I may change my exhaust anyway. Great info Injuneer, thanks.
