Argument over what MPH i should TRAP??
There is a guy i know with a stang that i have beat many times that traps like 100. I beat him bad every time and he asked me what i trap. Since i have not been to the track in a while and have modded my car since then i guestimated. I told him i probably trap 108 to 110. He seems to think there is NO WAY that this is true and has started to convince me of the same. I was just wondering with regards to what i trapped before, what do you think i would be trapping now?? All mods are listed in my sig and my last track time was before hotcam kit, shifter, LS1 driveshaft, COMPLETELY NEW IGNITION(plugs, wires, opti, coil, ICM, etc), 4.10's, SLP Limited slip, and the all important tune. I know the only way for me to know for sure is for me to go to the track but give me a break its over 2 1/2 hours away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks in advance.

13.60 @ 105 with stock cam and heads is really amazing. Sounds like the track was maybe a little off or your have yourself a freak of a car. I trap around 107 with the hotcam. But if you do have a freak of a car and you now added the cam with other mods, I would assume around 109-110mph. I know with my car when I did the hotcam kit with tunning I picked up 4.5mph.

Well my brother's 96Z M6 w/ the following:
-Hot Cam Kit
-3.73 Gears
-Hooker Long Tube Headers
-Drag Radials
-Open Dual Exhaust
-CAI
-Tuning
-Some Weight Reduction, (Summit Seats, Removed Rear Sears, Fiberglass Hood).....................................
consistently goes 109 and as high as 111. With regular tires he goes as low as 107 (no traction and bogs car)
108-110 is not out of the question, for your mods/6-Speed

Actually it has everything in it. Even the spare and jack. No weight modifications at all. It went 105 with K&N CAI, AS&M headers, and a cutout. If thats strong then i guess your saying i have a strong LT1. Then i dont think it is too impossible for me to go 110 after the hotcam, 4.10's, and the other minor stuff. Does that sound about right to you guys????

I would say you have yourself a healthy LT1, and its hard to say because all cars respond differently to different mods, but with the hotcam kit and gears 110 is very possible. Like I stated before, I gained about 4-5mph with my hotcam kit and tunning. Best of luck.

105 with stock head/cam is not that amazing. I know a guy with just bolt on's trapping a hair under 109. Most guys get 105 when they put a full exhaust system on the car. Now the guys that trap that with a cutout, that's something to brag about.
