Anyones A4 ever leaked from around the SPEEDO sensor?

I was under my car doing Shoebox's tranny cable adjustment since my shift never wants to come out of park. Well, I did it just like it said and it still does the same thing

But anyways, I noticed that there is a leak coming from speedo sensor. It is like a circle with a plug going into it, and from the bottom of the circle it must be slowly leaking.

So, where can I find that seal, and should I just pull it out and put the new seal in? How much fluid will I loose?

PS- I am not a newbie with cars, I have pulled alot of transmissions, I just havent ever been into a 4L60E since I have been a mustang guy working at a ford racing shop.

Thanks alot,
James

Man, I was hoping someone responded with an answer!

Well, I guess the dealer would probably have to have it, it probably is the same on all 700r4/4l60/4l80 etc. Maybe not, but I would think so.

It's a very common o-ring. If your local shop tells you they don't have one, they're full of sh#t. I've got a box full of them at the shop. The 700/early 4L60Es used the same speedo o-ring as every PBO TH350 produced.

VSS

You might need to catch a little fluid that comes out when you remove the sensor.

Hey Shoebox awsome site it has helped me many times, just wanted to say thanks. Anyway mine is leaking too. I never noticed when it was in the old Z. Now that I have the swap( 94LT1/4L60e from old Z in my truck) done, however I've noticed the VSS is leaking. Well its alsmost done, when are they ever done anyway! Mine is also a slow leak, as there is bearly a spot from it. I asked a buddy who used to run a trans shop, he told me also to bring it in and he could match it up. I was going to drive the rear up on ramps in hopes of not losing much fluid. I would really rather get the o-ring first so its an in and out deal, I don't want to leave it open, while I go to get it. Does anyone on here know what the GM part # is?

Sorry, I don't have that info. Why do all the searching? Just go to a GM dealer with the p/n. It's only $1.83 even at list price.

Apparantly the people who work at your local transmission shop are morons. Yes, they're are 2 different VSS sensors they used in 4L60E's...Early and late. Early units are the same o-ring as a PBO TH350 and a 700R4. Later units used a smaller o-ring which was the same as the old Chevrolet TH350.
Yours is an early unit...Just go get an o-ring for a 700R4.
