I have one of Jegs house brand mini on my car , it works find with SLP mids. I did have to cut the end near the oil pan deeper . It would not bolt up without hitting the flange. I think I took off about .200 or so . You might be able to beat the flange flat but I work in a tool shop and went with cutting the stater instead.
do you happen to have a part number?
thanks for info...
i just wanted to make sure the mini starters would bolt up to an lt1 without much if any hassle... i can grind if i need to....have dremel

i also have the jegs hitachi style that;s multi indexable. i don't recall the part number, but it was more cash then the normal part #. i found the picture of it on summit , part # SUM-829100 . i did buy it based on a search on here, so may help to do some searching for hitachi part numbers and you'll get it. i also have lpps and my experience was tough. i should have installed the starter while i had the engine out of the car. I put my headers on first, then put the motor in the car, then the starter after everything was in the car. it was tough to get the bolt on the passenger side as there is no clearance on the lpp's to turn that bolt directly. you have to work with the 1/4 ratchet's and go slow... took a while, but no clearance issues.
I believe this was the starter I used http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/10001/10002/-1 .
