Summer testing season in the southwest
Every year around this time we in SoCal & Arizona start seeing glimpses of whatever is being tested by manufacturers or the press (Car & Driver especially).
For 2 nights in a row parked over on 5th ave in the Gaslamp district has been a burnt orange 350Z, which seeing it in person is smaller than you'd think. The car is designed in as much detail as the Mini Cooper, from sculptured door handles to the support bracket in the storage area & the gauge pod. It get's alot of attention. It had a California special plate & was parked both night's with windows down, so in the future, if you see an article or ad with one with alot of resturants/clubs/bars in the background, you know where it's from.
I also spotted a Nissan Dima VIP parked in front of the pub I go to on Harbor drive. It is basically an extended wheelbase slightly larger & luxurious Infinity Q45. It had Michagan manufacturers plates & some type of laptop attatached on the passenger side (it was left hand drive). The interior was pretty laid out, with very light wood trim, and the gauges (speedo & tach primarily) seemed to float on a black background. One of the drivers said it was the next Q45, so we'll see.
