That's just me though.

lol! No one's breaking out the Dremel and sanding drums, it's just scoring metal. If anything comes of scoring it, it'll be one of those curled up pieces that you can grab and toss. I only had 1 of those. No chips or flakes of metal flying around anywhere, there's nothing high speed about it. I understand your apprehension (albeit unfounded) though.

I can certainly recommend Permatex "Ultra Copper." The fallout from the original leak that started when I changed over to Mobil 1 took out the clutch disk. I fixed the intake first and then the clutch-still holding from 2 years ago. I let the stuff sit an hour or so before putting on the manifold and waited 24 hours before starting.

i just put a regular bead like you are instructed to do and after it was dry i put some more silicone on my finger and caked it on over the crack between the block/intake where a leak could develope....so far so good after 5 months.

I used the centerpunch method on both the block & intake. Sealed it with Permatex import gray silicone........... 3+ years without leaking.

What Shoebox said, I used a center punch and Ultra Copper and have no problems.
