anybody who understands compression ratios
The compression ratio is the volume of the cylinder with the piston at bdc divided by the volume of the cylinder at tdc. The higher the compression ratio, the more the air/fuel charge is compressed, and the more power it will produce when it ignited. The higher the compression ratio, the higher octane fuel is required to avoid detonation.
