Anybody used AFR's 215cc raised runner LT1 heads??

Anybody used AFR's 215cc raised runners LT1 heads??

I know these heads require the use of a converted carb style intake and can't use the stock LT1 or LT4 intkake mainfold.

But I hear they the closet thing you will get to LSx head perfomance out of traditional SBC 23 degree head.

Truth or hype???

What was your HP/TQ results?? Both engnine dyno and rearwheel????

What kind of special valvetrain is needed to run these heads?

I know of people that used them with great results. I'm not the guy to ask but I'm sure north of 700HP is possible out of these. Might have to revv pretty high though. Don't think you will peak 720hp at the crank around 6500rpm

Ive seen a flow sheet with 330cfm intake numbers @.700.
They are going to require a different intake, not sure what you will need but i do know that you will need something different than a stock stlyle.

I dont really know if the 330 @ 700 is true but i found it on this site. I have seen other numbers our of them but not like the flows above. The other flows ive seen are a little over 300cfms, which can be achieved with other 23 degree heads. Like other afr;s (210's,220's,227's) tfs 210 and 220's.

Hell i saw one guys flows from stock castings from llyod. They nearly touched 300 at .650., they were le3's with $500 more in em. The guys said he wanted ever last bit of power out of them.

So what do you plan to do with these? Have you considered anything else?

I also believe these require a solid roller cam with shaft mount rockers too. Checkout www.advancedinduction.com

If you're not worried about using a stock LT1 - LT4 intake and want really big na power get a set of SB 2.2 or 18* heads & intake then convert the heads for LT1 use and you're set. The sb 2.2's flow 390 @ .700" lift I and 240 @ .700 E.

There is a guy on the Corvette forum that just posted 470rwhp with a 370 cubic inch LT1 using the new AFR heads. I agree in that with the new AFR heads puts a LT1 or L98 base motor we are in the same league with an LSX motor. The heads are that good and the motor on the Corvette forum proved it. That is LS1 territory.

Let's ignore the dry sump and such, as well as the fact guys are making more than this with we sumps and ported GM heads.
