i have a 95 z with all the mods in my sig...im sending my pcm to ion monday morning 11/24...im also installing some 1.6mag rr.

would you recommend a tune on a "stock"car???

i was just gonna have the the top speed limiter removed, rev limiter raised, gears/speedo recalibrated, and lower fan turn ons.

i dont know what to do...need thoughts now so i know what to do tommorrow?

thanks again,
steve

Theres nothing to really "tune" on a stock car so I'd have to vote no. Everything you listed is about all you can do AFAIK.

Ion should have a good program for your mods so I would tell him everything you got and let him decide whats best.
I dynoed 278 RWHP on a basically stock car with Ed Wright tune.

Yeah I would have him advance the timing some and have him adjust it so it won't pull timing if the KM senses anything fake. A tune helps even on simple bolt on cars.

YES you CAN benefit from a tune on a STOCK engine... Our car's run at like a fat 10.8:1 in the upper PE Tables causing the car to run HELLA RICH on a stock tune...

TUNING =

You might gain some if he can lean it out a little.

There's nothing you can tune on a stock car? Do you know anything about our vehicles and the way they are tuned from the factory? Most people with a good tune on a stock car can get at least 10 RWHP from tuning, some have seen as much as 25 RWHP. I've been tuning these cars for quite some time now, I can tell you that any vehicle, from stock, bolt-on, and major modded can greatly benefit from a good tune.

I think most likely the "tune on a stock car won't pick up much" myth is probably from the fact that handheld tuners like the Hypertech suck donkeys.

EDIT: By the way, I agree there is not much to be had with timing tweaks, but plenty in the PE Tables (A/F Ratio).
