How to cheat emmissions 101! Hopefully

A buddy of mine with a cc306 is going to be getting his emmissions done again after failing the for the third time.(even with programming) He has LT's, Ported heads 1.6 and the cc306.

My uncle and his hot rod buddies told us to hook up a compressed air tank and tape it into the exhaust before the cat/sniffer(duh) rig a switch connected to petal, then open up the tank and hope. They said the compressed O2 will change the mixture of expelled exhaust and flush out.

Well i will let you fellas know this weekend how it turns out.

Seriously doubt that will work. Does the car have cats? If not, you will fail the visual inspection NO MATTER WHAT which means you fail the whole inspection. Rigging up an air compressor is a lot of work compared to finding someone who will pass it for you hassle free for fifty bucks. I used to test emissions in GA and there arent many, if any, tricks to passing emissions with a big cam car, well at least with a inspector that is doing his job correctly.

Dumping race gas or xylene/toulene would help I'm sure.

Bo is right. The easiest thing to do is go fishing. I believe the best bait is a $50 bill and a smile.

Amen to that! I could put a huge cam in my car with longtubes and dual dynomax bullets and not have to worry about a thing. South Carolina sure is a dumb place, but it's great for Camaro drivers.

I love living in Texas! It may be stereotypical, but we really do have a lot of "Good ol' Boys". Most work with cars, so 9 times out of 10 you get one while getting an inspection. I took my car about two years ago to one and he started talkin about how he has a 2nd gen Z28 and all that. He drove it around the block and got back and was like "It's kind of quiet, what kind of exhaust you got?" and looked under and saw my cutout. He told me "For Christ's sake son, uncap that and give this car it's ***** back." lol But this year I work at an oil change place, so I had my friend do it and overlook my exhaust leak Get in good with someone who can do them and you're set. Or you can move to Texas......
