another ls7 spring/lifter thread...and i did search

i have a set of ls7 lifters, retainers, locks and springs.

i have a cc306 cam, small base circle

i have a 97 lt1, 383 stock heads, ported.

i know the lifters fit, now how about the springs? combo is off a 2006 ls7 vette with 3k miles on them.

I'm thinking the retainers/locks won't work.

They won't fit stock LT1 valves as they are meant for 8mm valves. I guess the springs are LS1 style beehives, so they might fit. There's no way for us to tell you for sure.

so what do i need to make the springs work with my lt1 heads? if they're smaller valve diameters then do i just need some locks and keepers?

Why do you want to run the LS7 springs? Chances are they aren't up to the task to control the valves with the 306...

i'll run comp's double straight spring kit.

Crane and comp beehives are made by different manufacturers.

Free isn't really free if they can't control the valve and it starts bouncing off of the piston tops.

The Hot Cam spring set (LT4) will not work with your CC306 camshaft.

Um they are both made in America. Pac makes the crane springs and associated springs makes the comp beehives. And good luck running the lt4 springs on the 306....
