Another long crank time
Another long crank time
I've been searching and trying to diagnose my long crank time issue on the '94.
Here's what I've got:
1. Takes 7-10 seconds or so to start hot or cold
2. SES light on, code 36
3. Fuel pressure regulator checked, no fuel in line and holds pressure
4. Fuel filter changed, brought back a lot of throttle response, no change in crank time
5. Opti harness checked, all good
6. ICM harness check, A and D read 12V, B when cranking takes a second to change from zero, it'll jump to about 2 and stay there while it cranks, and for a split second when I stop cranking, it jumps to about 4. I'll admit its not the best multimeter.
7. I've noticed that the car will start once some oil pressure starts to build, and it will idle and run just fine
Is it likely that the SES and long start are related, possibly the opti? Also, I thought I remembered reading about where some part might not be working, and if the computer sees oil pressure building then it will go ahead and start? I couldn't find it again while searching.
Any help would be much appreciated

After the pump primes, how long does the pressure hold?
There is no connection between the oil pressure sensor and the PCM in the F-Bodys, so there is no need for oil pressure to build before the engine starts.
