It's standard right hand thread..
But it's HARD to get off[ air impact helps a lot!
what I did was to take a cheap socket that fit the nut, ground 2 flats on it, took a pipe wrench to that and put an allen key into the center of the shaft [look there theres a hex hole]
It came off with some struggling that way..
no other way to hold it really..

thanks for the reply. I used an impact wrench It came off in like half a second....

I also used it to put it back on, I hope it didn't jar the inards too much

Nah, they're pretty tough. Going to an underdrive pulley setup or something?

nope, I popped a chrome alternator fan from autozone on there. I am in the engine dressup stage. Man, that little chrome fan makes the whole thing look a million times better...
