Funny.... based on my personal inspection and experience with the FRAM (leaks, rough-cut threads that galled the mounting threads on the filter mount, collapsed cans trying to remove the "galled" thread filters, shoddy looking paper internals) I stopped using FRAM a long time ago. Particularly when you can get online physical and performance comparisons that show them performing below average.

I was really disappointed the first time I saw my stroker on the engine dyno, with a FRAM on it. I asked the shop/engine builders why they used them, and they said they "used them in all our engines - no problems". I told them about my problems, and got a big "shrug".

Two years later when I went back for some work, I took my own Moroso filter, to avoid getting "FRAM'd".... and the shop told me they no longer used the FRAM's.... based in part on my input, and really stopping to analyze the actual performance of the FRAM filters. They went to AC/Delco.

One of the problems is that only a few companies make the filters, and who makes which brand can change over time... you really have no idea who made what you bought, and how it compares to the same filter from a few months back.
