Air locked

Justgot my optispark installed today. Got everything buttoned up, topped off all fluids. I started it up, ran great, however after it warmed up it started boiling out of the overflow. I use the bleeder on the line that comes from the thermostat housing. It did have some air come out and then a steady stream of water so I thought all the air was out. I have even tried to run it with the cap off to try and flush out the air to no avail. Everytime once it starts to boil out of the overflow if I hit the bleeder antifreeze comes out. If I shut the engine off air will then come out, alot of it. I suspect this is from the heat that has built up. Do you guys have a quick and easy solution for ridding the engine of the all the air? Thanks, Chris

Re: Air locked

If you use the proper fill procedure, there is little air to bleed out. Did you have any of the radiator hoses off when you did the work? Sometimes people reverse the bleed hose and the hose to the remote reservoir. That can cause pressure at the reservoir.

So, did you check the hoses I mentioned?

Re: Air locked

Yeah, they were correct. I finally got it I think. I have one of the prestone backflushing kits on and I just backflushed the whole system. The only bad thing is I just lost all my antifreeze. however I got the air out I'll just add antifreeze later.
