air filter needed

I made my own CAI, so I don't have a place to hook that hose that normally goes on the intake, do I need to put a filter on it? It's a litlte late becuase I've been running it with it off for about two years..

Are ya talking the line that goes to the valve cover? If so get ya a fuel filter that fits the hose and put it on.One of the clear inline one's.
It's been sucking dirt for 2 yr's that's all.

I assume he is talking about the AIR Pump hose that connects before the MAF.

You've been without an air filter for two years? Isn't that bad to do?

The line supplies air to the AIR pump. You can get a "breather" type filter and stick it in the line to the AIR pump. I think its a 5/8" hose. He still has an air filter, just missing a filter on the line to the AIR pump.

Ok so the air goes the the air pump, but then into the headers right? does this air really need to be filtered?

Re: air filter needed

Dirt might damage the AIR pump... its a "vane" type, with seals that rub on an inner surface.
