Weird Problem, Car wont turn over after rain storm??

Well its been raining like crazy here in NY.

Yesterday I went to get in the car and it wouldnt start. Like the alarm was armed, maybe

I pressed the UNLOCK button on the keypad and it started right up.

But today

I go and try to start it and it wont turn over, its got all electronics, lights come on, no problems. Just when I turn the key it wont start...clutch is to the floor and all. I dont know what happened

Its a 96 M6 Z28 with the factory alarm.

And it DID RAIN LIKE CRAZY...so maybe somthing got wet??

If the opti got water in it that could cause problems. Try it again after it has been sitting.

But it wont crank. It wont do ****.

Another thing.

I left the window slightly open, so everything on the side got wet. Its like it wont crank over when u dont press in the clutch.

If the battery is charged and the starter is good then it should at least crank over. If the fuse box got wet and you started it maybe one of them blew. Just a shot in the dark but thats all i can think of right now.

I bypassed the Clutch Position Switch with a wire to see if that was just shot......Nothing

I checked all of the in-cabin fuses....All good

I'll look again tomorrow at other fuses.

This sucks

After leaving window open in a down pour, car wont start.

Well I left my window half down and it rained like crazy 2 days ago.

Now my car wont start.

1st time it did it. All I did was press UNLOCK on the keypad and then it started.

2nd time, It wont start at all.

Heres what I did.

I reprogrammed the keypad....nothing

I jumped the Clutch position sensor with a wire....noting

Pulled a bunch of fuses....nothing

unhooked battery......nothing

Anything else?

When I try to start it, the "Theft Deterrent Relay" in the glove box clicks...is that supposed to do it

Starting a duplicate thread in another forum usually doesn't help you, since no one in this thread will be familiar with the post made in the other thread, what has already been suggested, what your repsonses were, etc. That's why we generally discourage it.

Not sure why you posted an LT1 no-start problem on "General F-Body Tech & Info".... would have made more sense to post it here. I'll merge your other post into this one here.

Are you getting the security light on your dash when you try and crank it as it could be your VATS? Just a guess!!

Check out this thread:

Also, dumb question, but do you have a kill switch with the alarm as I have a black bypass button under the dash on my 95 T/A that was installed with the factory alarm and it bypasses the kill switch if the alarm is going off and I have the key in the ignition allowing me to start her. Just a thought.

On my sons 98 you can put straight power to the wire that runs along the passenger side of the engine bay. I think there is a spot where you can uncap or get to the wire. It won't stay running but at least it will help eliminate some parts. I used a copper wire i had laying around and put one end on the battery and the other to the wire. I think it is the straight power to the starter i believe but the injectors won't work so it will die right away.
