Adjusting valve lash

I know the proper sequence to adjust the valves......Im just alittle confused on how to do it. The source Im reading says full roller rockers like the lt4 used(Im using the crane gold rr) should be adjusted to zero lash then torqued to 18ft-lbs from that point. Ive always heard just go a 1/4 to 1/2 turn after zero lash. Which is correct?

I believe both would be the same thing. The 1/4 to 1/2 turn is just a rule of thumb for those without a torque wrench.

The LT1 does not rely on torque values for rocker arm adjustment.

I know the stockers dont...and the book said as much....but it said that the lt4 full rollers should be torqued.....Im still going to do the 1/4 turn past zero though because 18 ft-lbs sounds a bit stout.
