Accel Gen 7 DFI users....

My buddy is trying to get his DFI system dialed in, and we arent having much luck with it. Too many blank tables.

Motor is 14:1, big cam, big heads etc. Really radical lt1, made 557 FWHp, 490 PDS TQ on the dyno.

Anyways, we need a shop that is FAMILIAR with gen 7 to tune it part throttle. WOT @ upper rpms we have close, but it could prolly use some work too. Chasis dyno would be needed since the motor is in and ready to rock.

Who have you guys used, what do prices look like, would you reccommend them again, etc etc. Shops within a few hundred miles of us would be nice, but anyone you would reccommend will be noted Thank you.

2 Suggestions either contact ACCEL directly (they have a web site) or contact Craig Railsback at BDS. This guy knows EEC's inside and out.

i'll chime in here....

Joe Overton and Second Street Speed are definately 2 worth looking into. Joe is running 9.8's with a n/a LT1 and gen 7.b
Second Street is definately up on the dfi game,as they have some killer cars out of there.

Stropes speed shop? cant recommend them, they grenaded Hunkin's 3rd gen engine 2-3 times trying to tune it,with no luck on the gen 7. Hunkins finally went to 2nd street.

Job Spetter much prefers the FAST system, and he has been known to lock out the tune on the accel unit.....food for thought.

I had Rich from BES tune mine. We did not use a dyno, but you don't need it for part throttle/driveability. It is better to go drive up and down the road. You can check out there website @ www.besracing.com . They are located just across the Ohio/Indiana border off I-74, so it would be a quick jaunt from Cinnci.

Last time I talked to Job he was all about DFI 7.0. He worked hand in hand with Accel with the making of the DFI 7.0 computer.

Another person I would talk to is Cal Hartline who can be found at www.hartlineperformance.com. He is responsible for tuning the fastest LT1 Impala in the country. Tell him Arthur sent you.

Tony biscoff built the motor and rich did the original tune on it. Its not my motor so i will not comment on anything else.
