Accel 300+ & Timing Retard Problem

I have the 300+ ignition and just got Accel's plug-in timing retard module for it.

I am having a hard starting problem now. I can't tell if the box is bad or if it's how I have it wired, or what...

I had the power wire connected to the ignition-on power connection on the fuse box under the hood. The empty hole that the big orange wire connects to. How can I permanently connect it to that empty hole? Is there a special wire connector for that?

Well, when I crank, it'll just turn and turn and turn and never actually fire up. Eventually it will. Sometimes it'll sputter a bit and die. Sometimes it catches and starts.

Anyway, when I tried hooking up the power wire to the fog-light fuse, to get constant power, it started the first try.

Could having it on the ignition-on block cause the power the go off when I'm trying to start? And so then the Accel box is cutting out and not letting it start?

Someone please help me figure this out. I'm going to email the guy who sold it to me too and see what he says.

TIA!

Can anyone help?

Basically, I need to know how to connect a hot wire to a switched power source in the underhood fuse box.
