Today I started my car for the first time in a few months. I decided to turn on the AC and white smoke started coming from my vents. I then popped the hood and smoke was coming from the compressor along with a crackling sound......kinda like it was on fire.

I'm sure the compressor is shot, but I'm trying to fiqure out what went wrong, it made no wierd noises when I turned it on. Anyhow what parts should be replaced along with the compressor?

I've never seen a compressor go up like you describe. Hopefully the smoke you describe coming from your vents was just the escaping R134 from the compressor blowing...

Hopefully only the compressor failed, but I'd replace the expansion valve, and possibly the accumulator/dryer while you're at it...
