About To start up the 383. For the first time.

Hey all, been on this site for a long time, and have read what seems to be close to a Charles dickens novel worth of information.
I thought now would be an appropriate time to add yet another 383 build to the archives, and provide feedback for those taking this route.
The stock motor overheated in the end of august (bad gauge temp sensor) it was over before i could do anything. Blown head gasket. I had a new set of heads fully built/ported before this happened. I decided that a new engine would be more appropriate than trying to resurrect the already damaged stock 350. I had the motor built in south Jersey by a father son shop that has been building race engines (boat and car) since the late 50's. D&F Performance. they did an AMAZING job on the built. did every bit of machine work in house. align bore, Hone, pressure test, hot tank, clearance checks, rotating assembly balance, coil bind, seat pressure.... and so on...

All engine/car info is in the Sig, and detailed pictures are documented On facebook at the following link.

Here

Even more detailed write ups and parts list at my cardomain.

I'm going to start her up for the first time this weekend. My uncle, who builds/races big blocks @ atco has been overseeing the whole project along with my cousin, who had the exact same motor built right next to mine at D&F. Although, if there is a next time, i will be dropping a LSX in her ;p

hahah yeah the gear head side of the family cant wait! including my mom and gf haha. i had a heated convo last night with the guys at speed inc. they do great work, but their shipping dept. has not gotten me my O2 sensors yet. i ordered them on Dec 27th. this is my first long tube setup and totally overlooked the o2 extensions... i would have started it on Christmas if it wasn't for these dumb things...

much bigger problems than desired on first start, the motor is fine and sounds strong, but i only heard it turn over maybe 3 times.... until it stopped dead.

that is my problem now, clutch fork/clutch/tranny?

it seems now when i try to crank the motor over its trying to crank the whole driveline, even with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor. brand new flywheel, clutch, and hydraulics. help?
