? about Lt1 Mods
I have a friend that has 93 auto 3.23 gear Formula. He currently has 1.6 rr , 2500 stall, Moroso cai, gutted cat, & a flowmaster. He is going to get 3.42 or 3.73 gear, Hooker longtubes w/3" exhaust, have his heads ported, to either port his intake or getting an LT4 intake, a custom pcm, and a cam. He wants to know if it is possible to put mass air on his car. Also if he can put mass air what cam would be good for this kind of setup? With his current mods he has ran 8.97@78mph 1/8 how much should he improve with the new mods?

Also, I dont think the LT4 intake will match up with the LT1 heads. I'm not 100% positive, but I'm pretty sure I read that on here in some previous thread. Id also figure his LT1 intake should flow well enough like it is for a head cam package anyways.

I didn't think you could put in a cam with speed density. And that speed density didn't respond to mods as well as mass air.

LT1 intake flows very well, with no mods, with very healthy LT1 heads. Not necessary to go to an LT4 intake. It doesn't bolt directly to the LT1 heads, and even after the machine work, there is no evidence to suggest it flows any better than the LT1 intake.
If you are serious about the MAF conversion, you would need to go the the 94/95 PCM, a complete wiring harness out of one of those years, and then have all the electronic tranny (4L60E) features programmed out to avoid codes. Then you would need a new set of fuel rails to accomodate the batch fire of those years.... then a new 94+ LT1 intake because there is no cross-over pipe groove in the 93 intake....etc. etc. etc.

Sure you can put in a cam with speed-density.... is just needs a new chip burned. But with the level of mod's you are talking about... heads and cam..... even a mass-air setup would require programming to achieve good performance.
