New shifter install?
The install isn't that hard. All you have to do is remove the console. I had a hell of a time (mostly because I'm a moron) but there are only 3 or so screws and it comes right out. Installing the shifter itself is VERY easy. There are many guides on the net if you look around, a good one is at Project Trans-Am

These are the instructions I got with my Ripper.
Step#1
Remove the ****, the boot and the trim plate from the stock shifter. Remove the plastic or leather handle portion of the parkig brake lever. Remove the screws that hold the console to the floor and instrument panel. Unplug the wiring to the cigarette lighter and glovebox light. Then remove the second rubber boot that is attached to the floorpan.
Step#2
Next you just remove the bolts holding the stock shifter in place, and pull it out.
Step#3
Then you just swap in the new one with the correct adjustments, and put it all back together the way it came off.
It's really easy to do, it took me like 30min or so, I goes quick once you actually see everyhthing that has to come off.

You glad you got The Ripper?
Yes, I am very happy with the shorter shifts and the quality of the shifter itself, I have had no problems since it was installed almost 2 years ago. Really though, any shifter is pretty much better than the stock one.
