95 z28 starts misfires then stalls

so i ran through a puddle and car stalled. had it towed and started taking it apart i replaced the opti part of the distributor, ect sensor, icm, and coil. after putting everything together it started up, however runs for 2 sec and shuts off....im guessing its running super rich since black smoke is coming out from exhaust, and the intake which is concerning me. im thinking spark timing could be off or timing of the chain..... im pulling a code for the maf so i unplugged it still the same and i know when u unplug the maf should go into a fail safe mode. so can someone please help me on what to do with some diagnostic aids or experienced advice...btw have spark and fuel pressure is good.

Possible you crossed the wires, left a wire unplugged? Did you replace the spark plugs and wires themselves?

Did you submerge the car and it started breathing water, therefor it stalled? Not being an ***, but how big was this puddle and how long was it running in the puddle for?

Are you sure you plugged the coolant temp sensor back in, and are you sure you used the correct one?

Ok... now I see the one I moved from "Advanced Tech" to "LT1 Based Engine Tech" is a duplicate post. Please post only once, on the correct forum. If you accidentally post on the wrong form, click the "EDIT" button and use the "DELETE" option that's in the EDIT screen.
