95 motor replaced with 96
95 motor replaced with 96
I recently purchased a 96 lt1 with 20,000 miles on it for 1200 bucks could not pass it up . but im wondering its a 96 and my car is a 95 any major problems with swap being its od2 and mines obd1 or any other know problems please let me know.
I did the same thing with a new 96/97 LT4 .You dont need to modify anything. Its a plug an play thing.
Just put the motor in your car and plug it with your original 95 connection.Remember that its exactly the same engin.
The only difference is that in 96 /97 they got a CPS on the timing cover.Just leave it alone.
My friend has a 97 and the plug on his coil is different than the one on my 95. I don't know if the 96 would be the same as the 97 or the 95, however, it most likely is like the 97. Although, you can simply reuse any sensors, or in this case, the coil, from your old motor and you should be fine.
