Emission test with no CAT, ideas ??

94Z, test time soon, have a pipe through the CAT so it will pass visual. Was thinking of some low octane Mohawk gas, guaranteed to pass additive, and an oil change.
If this fails maybe some methyl hydrate? I have found it works with an older carb'd car, but any risk to injectors, etc ?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like you're going to have to put one on, at least temporarily, then take it off after the test. I don't think there's any way you're going to get past a sniffer test without a cat.

Doubt you are going to pass without the cat. Why don't you have a high-flow unit put in?

Thanks guys, The Hooker aerochamber sounds so damn good without the CAT I'd rather not run one, but, will go with a high flow ( maybe the Magnaflow one? ) if all else fails....

I've been rather surprized with emissions before. My bronco STINKS and it should have 2 cats but it just had one with a delete pipe for the other . It passed just fine. And in high school my friends Eclipse had no cat, it had a full new exhaust system that didnt even have a cut/weld anything where the cat would go and he passed

Maybe you have less stringent regulations. Here in IL, I haven't had such luck with previous vehicles and emissions testing.

Utahs are Starting to get really retarded

Haha, the bronco even passed with the rubber ducting they put over the tail pipe melting. It smoked out the whole Shop *Huge dealership shop* with blue smoke and everyone thought it was my truck but it was just the melting rubber.

There's alot of trick to do. You can add alcoho to your gas, you can hook up a line to your exhaust pipe that runs to a tank and use that to pump fresh clean air into your exhaust. Its not that hard to do. I say you just run the crap out it b4 you get there with alcohol in your tank then rev the **** out of it b4 thay test it. I think it will pass.

I believe his talking about a compressed air tank. IMO it would have to be a big azz tank to make any difference. I'd try the alcohol.
