94z won't start

Hello everyone, well a couple of weeks ago I was driving my car and I got on it and it cut out a couple of times around 5k RPM's. Then I stopped at a stop sign and it acted like it was out of gas, but I wasn't. So I had the car towed home, te next day I popped the hood and noticed that the intake elbow was really loose on the intake so I tightened it and it started but it was idling at about 500RPM's I took it on a spin and it ran great as long as I didn't come to a stop sign. So I decided to change the fuel filter, that didn't help any so I changed the plugs. After this I started it and it barely ran at all and I know the plug wires are on good and that the plugs are gapped correctly. So I decided to put on the Opti-spark after taking all the parts off and installing the opti I noticed that the plug that blocks the air silencer on the intake elbow had came off. So I plugged it back up and started it. Both times I got it started before the battery died it only ran for about 5 seconds before it died. Does anyone have any suggestions as what could be causing my problems any help would be great.
Thanks

I'll have to get a fuel pressure guage. It just seems weird that before I changed the plugs it ran great except when I would come to a stop, then I changed the plugs and started it and it ran horrible.
