As long as the Engine scan button is green, engine DTC's will be read and displayed.

 

Update - charged battery to 92% and cranked continuously for 11 sec. could not bear to continue to 20s. Then plugged in with Scan9495. No codes in DTC. engine parameters reading and connected on COM 3. Tried again for about 6 sec while connected. No codes.

i should not have disconnected battery. i wanted to tug the coil wires and such but should have waited. Are there other ways to check why no spark? thanks

 

See if Scan9495 shows any RPM while cranking. Anything over 50 would be an indication that the Opti is working. If not, check the cable to the Opti for bad connections.

ok inlaws were here for 2 weeks but i scanned while cranking and rpms do not move, stuck at 45. com working showing vin and current time

plugs to coil and opti secure. will order ac delco opti and update thanks
