cc503 cam question please help

I have a 94 camaro z28 and I was looking to buy the cc503 cam BUT when I called summit racing they said that cam is for 95-97 lt1 based engines. I know they changed the opti in 95 and that the timing chain and cover is different. I also know that the snout on my cam is different than the 95 on up lt1's cause my dowel pin is smaller in length. so my question is what part number are you guys buying for whoever is running a cc503 cam in their 94.

Re: cc503 cam question please help

The only difference is the dowel pin length, which is easily taken care of.

First time I've ever heard this one..... there are hundreds of people running this cam in 93/94's. Maybe you got connected to the floor sweeper at Summit.

I called comp cams and they confirmed what shoebox said. Just need to shorten the dowel pin length.
