I own a 1994 Camaro z28 LT1 w/ 51k miles. Sometimes when I put my foot into the throttle the engine spitts - hesitates - coughs - pukes sputters and so on. I installed a new fuel filter and this did not work. I run only 93 octane premium fuel no ethynol. Any helpfull suggestions would be great

Does it sound like a leaky valve or a fuel problem?

If you said it coughs, that sounds like a problem with the heads to me.

 

Worse when its warm?

replace the following in this order.
coil
plugs + wires
optispark (expensive)

I did coil plugs and wires at the same milage and it fixed my stutttttter.

 

My Z had bad hesitation about a year ago. New plugs and wires fixed it. I just installed a new opti about 50 miles ago during my water pump replacement and the hesitation is back. theres a new opti in the mail.

Listen to what 94formula said, do the easy stuff first, if that dont work get an opti from Jason Cromer.

 

Coil wire.Do the cheap stuff first.My02(n=most noticeable at high rpms.)Replace it as a normal maintenance thing.Every 6 months or so.Hope this helps.
