93 lt1 throwing a code 22

ok ive posted on here a few weeks ago andhavent done much since. we started the car today and it is still running rich and is no throwing a code 22- TPS low voltage??

when i posted a while back i put up some pictures of fouled out spark plugs, i figured this was due to running rich.

is there a possibility that the hypertech chip we got 11 years ago has gone bad?

engines fresh out of the machine shop with a mild cam could this throw off the hypertech?

thanx

If it is throwing a DTC 22, wouldn't you want to find out what is wrong with the TPS? For the 1993 with speed density tuning, the TPS is a very important input for the computer to make fuel calculations.

o ya definetly im pickin a tps up right now but its been running like this for a while now and if this doesnt fix it im starting to think its the ECU or chip.

ive read a few forums about these codes and it seems to sound like when obd1 vehicles start thrrowing these codes you replace teh sensor, when the sensors dont seem to work out some people replace teh ecm and seems to solve things.

im also thinking its the chip because this is how the last motor was running when it died... almost like either the chip or the ecu was on its way out.

ok well i changed the TPS and the engine runs a little bit better but still running really rich.

i would like to kno if anyone had ever had a similar problem with an engine running rich because of a bad chip or ecu.

Re: 93 lt1 throwing a code 22

I am having similar issues as we speak, and my ses light did come on, then it turned off, car ran fine, then got to about 180 temp and started to run like **** again. when put on the scanner it showed a code 22 which was low voltage tps, when i use the scanner at idle, and then do some slow and fast revs the volts do not seem to move much, also the map is reading 10 hg? wtf, and that voltage is at like 9.2 according to the scanner for the map sensor. Ill be looking into this alot more, i probably have multiple problems on mine but its def run like **** and super rich!

You already posted this in another thread.

Please don't multiple post a problem. It causes unnecessary confusion.
